Plans for the 2017 Fall into Health are underway and Stevens Community Medical Center is looking forward to seeing you on Monday, October 23 from 5-8 pm at the Morris Area Elementary School. The event is in its 4th year and really brings to fruition the value of what our community can do together to create a healthy, active and thriving community. SCMC works closely with many organizations and businesses locally to make this popular event happen each year and we are proud to work with them.
This year from 5-6:30 there will again, be a free community farm to table meal consisting of healthy meal options with takeaway recipes and included nutritional information. Special thanks to local farmers for their gracious help in donations for this community meal! There will also be many health-related informational booths. A mini flu shot clinic will be available (cost is $28.) If you are interested in a healthier you or more information to get you there, stop by one of these booths from some of the SCMC departments and local organizations! Don't forget the FREE lab draws provided by the SCMC Lab department (yes, totally FREE!)
From 6:30-7 several SCMC providers will be answering health-related questions in a panel discussion. There may be a couple new faces, so be sure to swing by.
We are also excited at 7:00, featured keynote speaker Holly Hoffman will be speaking. Holly was a finalist on Survivor Nicaragua Season 21. She's truly an inspiration to listen to and we know you will enjoy listening to her story. There will be childcare available for ages 6-10 from Morris Area ECFE and translators will also be available from The Bridge.
There really is something for everyone at Fall into Health and the best part is it's completely FREE! It's about bringing the community together and creating a healthy environment to grow.
