Surgical Weight Loss Informational Meeting February 7

Stevens Community Medical Center will be having an informational meeting for individuals who are considering having weight loss surgery. The group is facilitated by ACMC surgeon Ryan Lussenden, M.D. and a registered nurse. There is no cost to attend. The meeting will be in the Adminstration Conference Room (ACR) at SCMC from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, February 7. 

SCMC Renew Weight Management Program

SCMC Renew Weight Management Program is a successful approach to reaching health and wellness goals. Led by SCMC Registered Dietitian, Alyssa Thooft takes this 12-week program and combines both nutrition and physical activity. Nutrition session will be led on topics including "building a healthy plate,"cut the fat, sugar and salt," "eating smart while dining out" and "mindful eating."

Below is a list of the 7th Annual Courage Cottage Turkey Trot Results from the 5K race. We had a record number of attendees Thanksgiving morning! Thank you again to those who participated AND most importantly for coming to support the Courage Cottage.

We offer DOT Exams

Federal guidelines mandate that anyone applying for a CDL must pass a DOT physical exam. Stevens Community Medical center has three certified examiners that offer DOT exams in our Morris or Starbuck locations.

Courage Cottage Turkey Trot

7th Annual Courage Cottage Turkey Trot is fun for the whole family! A 5K & 2K walk/run is conveniently set for Thanksgiving morning, no excuses, come out for the festivities before the feast!

 Race begins and ends at SCMC on 1st Street.

  2K or 5K  is $30

• Family 2K or 5K is $65 

• Additional T-shirts $12/each

 

Flu Season is here

Flu Season, Flu Shots, Flu Vaccine

It's flu season, that dreaded time of year. Yearly flu vaccination is the best tool to protect against influenza. Influenza is a serious disease that sickens millions of people each year.  The best way to prevent  the flu is to get a flu shot. 

Walk-ins welcome. Please register at the main entrance or stop in during one of our upcoming flu clinics and we will take care of you. Protect yourself and others by getting the shot.

2017 Fall into Health

Fall into Health

Plans for the 2017 Fall into Health are underway and Stevens Community Medical Center is looking forward to seeing you on Monday, October 23 from 5-8 pm at the Morris Area Elementary School. The event is in its 4th year and really brings to fruition the value of what our community can do together to create a healthy, active and thriving community.

Breastfeeding Essentials

Stevens Community Medical Center is now offering a Breastfeeding Essentials class for expectant parents. This comprehensive 2-3 hour class is instructed by Lactation Educator and Dietitian Alyssa Thooft.

How breastfeeding works

Proper latch and positioning 

Ways to improve success & reach your personal breastfeeding goals

Common concerns 

How to incorporate breastfeeding into your work & social life
