Richard F. Bergstrom grew up on a farm near Onawa, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State University and then recieved his medical education at the University of Iowa. Following an internship and 2 years in the Army with service in a surgical hospital in Vietnam. Dr. Bergstrom completed an orthopedic residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and also completed a fellowhsip in hand surgery at the University of Louisville, Kentucky. In addition, he spent a year in Sweden at the University of Linkoping where he focused his training in knee surgery and knee arthroscopy.
Dr. Bergstrom's surgical pratice and scope of specialties includes trauma surgery, joint arthroplasty including total hip, total knee and reverse total shoulder replacement. Dr. Bergstrom also has a particular focus in hand surgery.
